Soybean yield response to Bradyrhizobium inoculation on southeastern coastal plain soils

چکیده

Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] is an important process to supply (N) for the crop. However, N capacity of varies widely among soils and climatic conditions. The potential purportedly minimum that do not have any prior history cultivation, application inoculum reported as necessary facilitate this process. Rhizobium inocula can be applied at planting promote BNF; however, their efficacy remains highly variable. A field experiment was conducted irrigated dryland sites 2017 2018, where cultivated preceding 10+ years. Bradyrhizobium liquid, dry, a combination liquid dry formulations. results showed addition, formulation or combination, did significantly increase yield compared with untreated control site. This study consistently fields without previous crop rotation Future research needed identify soils, varieties, management practices, environmental conditions inoculation which net farm profits.

Upper Coastal Plain of southeastern Arkansas, USA

To contribute to an understanding of forest management on secondary forest succession, we conducted vegetation surveys in a chronosequence of pine stands ranging in age from 1 to 59 years. Adjacent areas were compared at 1, 7, 12, and 17 years following two reproduction cutting methods (clearcuts or pine seed-tree cuts); a 59-year-old pine stand that was periodically thinned was also included t...

Field application of PAM as an amendment in deep-tilled US southeastern coastal plain soils

In sandy soils of the southeastern USA coastal plains, crop production is limited by low water holding capacity and compacted soil layers that reduce root growth and productivity. Polyacrylamide (PAM) was added to sandy coastal plain soils to improve physical properties and yield. Soils were amended with linear and cross-linked PAMs. Treatments and controls included the following: (1) spraying ...

Deep tillage management for high strength southeastern USA Coastal Plain soils

Southeastern USA production is limited in Acrisols (Paleudults and Kandiudults) because they have high strengths and low water holding capacities. Production systems with crop rotations or deep tillage before planting were compared with less intensive management. Production systems included double-crop wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) that were drilled in 0.19 m-r...
